JAWS DERBY RULES 2009
The JAWS DERBY begins Friday, June 5, and runs until noon Sunday, June 7, 2009. The fishing area is from the mouth of Barden Creek, Wisconsin to Knife Island at Knife River, Minnesota, westerly to Duluth, Minnesota and Superior, Wisconsin, including the harbor and St. Louis River to the posted boundary. You may only use public accesses or marina facilities that are located within the JAWS derby boundaries. All fish will be weighed in at JAWS DERBY Headquarters (HQ), Barkers Island, Superior, Wisconsin on the same scale.
ALL CREWMEMBERS MUST HAVE A JAWS DERBY TICKET BEFORE FISHING IN THE DERBY IN ANY CATEGORY
Weigh-in Times:
Friday, June 5 and Saturday, June 6 - 4:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Sunday, June 7, 11:00 a.m. - noon
(Weigh-in times may be changed if necessary because of weather-check at Derby HQ)
Weigh-in requirements:
ALL CREWMEMBERS MUST HAVE A JAWS DERBY TICKET BEFORE FISHING IN THE DERBY IN ANY CATEGORY
Periodic Daily Drawings:
There will be periodic daily drawings held daily on Friday and Saturday using JAWS DERBY ticket holders and the winning numbers will be posted at JAWS DERBY headquarters. The person must claim the prize by 8:30 p.m., the day the number is drawn or the prize will be recycled and drawn for again the following day. Nightly Drawing Prizes: Special prize drawings for JAWS DERBY ticket holders will be held after the weigh-in time (8:00 p.m.) on Friday and Saturday nights. You must be present to win at this drawing. Designated ticket holding will not be allowed. There will be refreshments and souvenirs at JAWS DERBY Headquarters. (Free coffee)
AWARDS CEREMONY AND DRAWING:
On Sunday, June 7, Derby tickets will be exchanged for special drawing tickets for drawing prizes at the Awards ceremony that will be held in the Barkers Island Inn Ballroom. You do not have to be present to win a drawing prize, but you must designate someone to exchange your ticket and claim your prize. Come early to exchange your derby ticket and get a good seat. Don't forget to reserve your dock space or hotel accommodations early.
JAWS DERBY Ticket Registration:
Adults $15.00 and children (under 16) $10.00.
Each person on the boat must have a Derby ticket before commencing the tournament. Tickets will be available in area stores until Thursday, June 4. Tickets will be on sale at Derby Headquarters until Noon on Saturday, June 6 for fishing. Tickets sold afterwards will be punched for drawing prizes only.

CHILDREN PARTICIPATION AWARDS
Salmon - Lake Trout - Walley - 1st Place Gift Certificate and 2nd Place Gift Certificate.

CAPTAIN'S DIVISION
The captain must be a current member of the Western Lake Superior Trolling Association to enter. Membership application forms are available at JAWS DERBY Headquarters.
The Captains Division is for Salmon/Trout Division. The total weight of the crew's largest Salmon and Lake Trout plus (bonus fish) if caught on the Captain's boat determines the winner.The person catching the fish entered must be present at the weigh-in of the fish along with the Captain and the other crew members fishing that day. Previous fish weights may be replaced if a larger one is caught during the tournament. Brown Trout will be a bonus fish in the Salmon/Trout Division. This is a fun contest so don't forget to join! The competition gets very exciting.

1st Place - Traveling Trophy to keep until next year plus a personal Trophy and a $100. 00 Gift Certificate.

3rd Place - A personal Trophy

Liability: The purchase of a JAWS DERBY Ticket constitutes a waiver of liability, absolving the association and its membership of any and all liability for damages arising out of this event. The ticket holder acknowledges that the event constitutes a recreational activity under S895.525, Wisconsin Statutes.
